Our first 1 day leather tote short course.

What you can expect from your course:
When you arrive you will be given a paper pattern of the tote handbag. You will then choose from black or brown leather to use to make your bag. We have a selection of different colour canvas linings & silver, antique brass and gold components to choose from. Everything else is provided and will be ready and prepared for you. No need to bring anything but your lovely selves and possibly a camera & notepad to document your project.
Kit includes:
Leather, canvas lining, fusing, buckrum, 1 x magnetic clasp, rivets, leatherboard base.
What you’ll learn
* The tote bag pattern template
* Instructions on how to cut leather,  tools to use, what to look out for.
* How to cut lining & fusing.
* Methods & techniques for preparing leather for sewing.
*Ways to finish edges of leather with lacquer paint
*Possible ways to sew your bag on domestic or industrial sewing machines
* Threads to use
*Professional construction techniques and methods.
*How to make a patch pocket
*How to attach a magnetic clasp
*How to assemble a shopper bag in stages
*How to secure the card base
*How to attach the leather handle with rivets

Timetable, Booking & Time
To view our timetable click here. This course runs from 10.30am-5pm.
Once you have viewed the timetable and decided which date(s) you would like to attend please click “add to cart” on the course page. During the checkout please write in the dates. 
Capacity & Course times
Our classes are very small (max. 4 students per class) so there is plenty of one-to-one tuition. Courses tend to fill-up fast so if your requested course date is already fully booked we will be in touch to discuss alternative dates that suit you.

Tea (&herbal tea) and coffee and biscuits are is provided but please bring your own drinking water.

All classes run with a minimum of only 1 person so you can have peace of mind that once you have booked your place you know nothing will change.

There are a few shops, cafes and a pub in 5-10 minutes walk from the studio if you would like to buy lunch or please feel free to bring a packed lunch. We have 1/2 hour lunch break from 1pm-1.30pm. 

We have just relocated from Hove to Lancing
Unit 7, Suite1, 44 Chartwell Road Lancing Business Centre, Lancing, West Sussex BN15 8UE. Once you have booked the course you will receive an email with driving directions and public transport info. If you arrive by train we can arrange for you to be collected free of charge from Lancing, Hove or Portslade station. There is limited FREE parking on site
Taster and 1 Day Courses Godalming, 10a Church St, GU7 1EH. Surrey
Located in a gorgeous shop owned by "I made this craft" just off the High street. There are a few paying car parks located about 5 minutes walk. If you are arriving by train, Godalming station is the closest and is within walking distance to the shop.
