What You’ll Learn
During this course, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Create Your Own Designs: Craft a bag, repair a handbag, fix a zip, hem your jeans, make an apron, create a simple top, or tackle any creative project you have in mind.
- Develop Lifelong Skills: Learn essential techniques to repair, upcycle, and create durable, high-quality items—an antidote to throwaway culture.
- Get Inspired: Transform materials like leather jackets, denim, curtains, or other garments into something truly original and personal.
Expert Guidance
Your instructor, Bex, brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience. She holds a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Fashion Womenswear, specializing in clothing construction, and transitioned into leatherwork and bag-making during her career.
Bex has worked with luxury fashion houses such as Givenchy in Paris and Paul Seville in London, and she successfully ran her own internationally sold fashion brand. Her creations used upcycled leather jackets and curtains, making her a true pioneer of sustainable fashion.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker, Bex’s supportive, tailored teaching will ensure you achieve your goals.
Materials
You’ll need to bring materials to upcycle for your project:

- For linings: Curtain fabric, skirts, shirts, or other textiles.
If needed, you can purchase zips, stabilizers, and leather directly from us on the day. Not sure what to bring? Feel free to reach out with any questions!
Class Structure
- Small Class Sizes: With a maximum of 4 students per session, you’ll receive plenty of 1-on-1 attention.
